EXPERT CRISIS TRAINING & EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT CONSULTING

including ACTIVE SHOOTER/ASSAILANT

Welcome to AarowPrep Emergency Management Consulting!

AarowPrep, LLC, is a rapidly growing emergency management consulting firm that specializes in active shooter/assailant planning and training nationwide along with multiple types of emergency management services for organizations and individuals. We have highly experienced and specialized subject matter experts ready to assist your organization with customized consulting to fit your industry needs.

A more prominent threat facing us today are individuals willing to cause great harm or death to others, sometimes on a large scale. Although we have developed laws like strong fire codes over the years to help us survive a fire, many organizations DO NOT have a plan in place to prepare for shooting events due to the more recently common nature of these, almost daily, attacks in our nation.

*New* AarowPrep has an EXCLUSIVE, interactive, and engaging program that every organization should start with titled:

Surviving an Active Shooter: Training for the Civilian Population

Our Subject Matter Experts have developed impactful, interactive, and dynamic programs geared toward your specific industry by utilizing lessons learned and current best practices in emergency management. We accomplish this by helping you plan for and train your staff for unforeseen emergencies.

INITIALLY, IT'S ON YOU TO SAVE YOUR LIFE

An Active Shooter is an individual actively engaged in killing or attempting to kill people in a confined and populated area; in most cases, active shooters use firearms and there is no pattern or method to their selection of victims.

In most cases, an active shooter incident is over within 3-5 minutes. On average it takes law enforcement between 8-10 minutes to arrive on scene, once they have been notified.

By their very nature, active shooter incidents are unpredictable and evolve rapidly. They are now a common and growing epidemic in this country, so much so that it doesn't always make the national news headlines. This includes workplace violence.

In many cases, police officers will not be tending to the injured or assisting with evacuations for an extended period of time. Because of this, organizations need to have a plan in place to train their staff on what they can do to help save their life in those 3-5 minutes, and possibly even save the lives of others involved or injured. Timing is critical.

If you aren't providing your staff with proper training, tools, and resources, you are leaving them vulnerable.

Planning and training your staff in advance is your best option to substantially reduce the likelihood of an extreme outcome, should an intentional act of violence occur within your organization. In the absence of an Active Shooter Plan, you have no way of knowing how your staff will react, or what actions they might take.

Throughout our school years, we were taught how to evacuate in the event of a fire. Because of this training, there have been little to no deaths from a school fire in this country in over 50 years. History indicates that once you have been trained, you will react in a predictable manner, yet most businesses provide no training for any type of emergency. It's proven that planning and training work.

Gone are the days of being able to turn a blind eye, or having the mindset of 'it can't happen to me,' or the hope that it won't.

HOW PREPARED IS YOUR ORGANIZATION?

Questions to ask yourself...

If you were confronted with an active shooter/assailant in your facility at this very moment, what would you do?

Would you be ready to act quickly to save your life?

Would you run? Do you have a place to hide? Are you prepared to fight?

Do you think there is only one right way to react?

Are you prepared to face an unpredictable situation?

Will your basic human instincts kick in?

Have you talked to your staff about this type of incident?

Do you know how you or your staff should react?

Are you aware of the recommendations of law enforcement and security professionals?

These are all very serious questions that you should be talking about within your organization. No part of our country is exempt from this type of violent act. Statistically, the cause is not something that is geographic or based on race, religion, sexual orientation, gender, socio-economics, etc.

It can and does happen to all types of people in all types of places.

Sometimes there are warning signs that it may occur, but often times it is a random act of violence.
